Your training focuses on wood as a material. A material more diverse and natural than any other. Are you interested in getting to know the different types of wood and composite materials and their properties?

If you are skilled with your hands and enjoy working independently and creatively, then this job is exactly right for you.

As a Carpenter, you will service the woodworking machines and maintain tools and equipment in working order. You will learn how to process all of the different types of wood in the correct way. From sawing and turning to surface treatments, you will learn an enormous amount in our workshops, using computer-controlled machines as well as working by hand. If you would like to come along to find out more about the job and give it a try, you are very welcome to do so!

An internship or work experience placement is a great way to get a taste of the work before committing to a training course.

Training content:

  • Types and properties of wood
  • Processing of wood and wood-based materials
  • Sawing, planing, drilling, turning, sanding
  • Veneer techniques
  • Preparing technical drawings
  • Treatment of surfaces

Training period:

Three years. Shorter periods may be possible under certain conditions.

What you offer:

  • At least a good school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss, 16+) and a good final grade in math
  • You are skilled with your hands and enjoy working with precision
  • You have a basic technical understanding
  • You are highly motivated, flexible and open-minded
