In Germany, the demand for wood for structural purposes is increasing. In order to ensure that the wood can be used for load-bearing purposes, visual grading of the dried timber according to DIN 4074-1 is necessary. This requires trained persons in a company. Our compact course imparts the essential theoretical and practical basics for the visual grading of sawn timber and is officially recognized by the accredited bodies in Germany. The theoretical and practical contents are closely coordinated. The practical exercises take place in the laboratories of the Fraunhofer WKI.
