Influence of climate change on indoor air quality
How does climate change affect air quality in buildings? Researchers at the Fraunhofer WKI and Fraunhofer IBP have developed a comprehensive mathematical model on behalf of the Umweltbundesamt (German Environment Agency) that can be used to predict the development of indoor climate. In this webinar, you will learn more about the model and the predictions up to the year 2100.
Depending on the structural and physical characteristics of the building, climate change will affect the indoor microclimate. This concerns in particular the air exchange between indoor and outdoor, the chemical/physical reactions of air pollutants, their release rate and microbial growth. The model takes into account all key aspects and allows an assessment of indoor air quality with regard to the well-being of residents.
