A new date for the event became necessary because the event hotel is not permitted to host the Symposium in the accustomed manner. “Conducting the Symposium without a supporting program, with a very limited number of participants and without the possibility of exchanging ideas during the breaks would not have been consistent with the idea of a networking event,” said Harald Schwab from the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research, Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institut WKI. The organizers - the European Panel Federation, the International Association for Technical Issues Related to Wood, and the Fraunhofer WKI - therefore felt compelled to cancel the event.

From 12^th to 14^th October 2022, the 12^th European Wood-based Panel Symposium will take place in Hamburg in the customary manner. A renewed application for a presentation will then be again possible. Conference fees already paid will, of course, be refunded in full, and the hotel rooms can be cancelled free of charge.

“We very much regret the postponement and would like to extend our sincere thanks for the willingness to provide presentations and for the tremendous interest in this event. We are already very much looking forward to this highly regarded networking opportunity on the new date in October 2022,” said Harald Schwab.
